HSM= High Speed Match. I guess it is made along the same lines as the HST, but with a softer "match" tip. Never had hold of one but not too sure. It should be a great distance casting/fishing rod.

Check out Gerrys ad in Sea Angler. Sounds like a really nice rod, should be perfect for our north west beaches. You have got me thinking now.................................but do I really need another rod :?

i have had this rod for the past 2 months, :D it is the best all round match rod i have used, 8) the HST little brother. ;) it has the advantage over the HST because its very user friendly action and effortless to cast. 8) unlike the HST that will rip your arms out if you get it wrong.    the HSM is a proper fishing rod, ;) unlike the HST best used for the tournament caster. ;) the HSM is a slim rod with loads of power there if needed, has been cast up to 250 yards. 8) but not by me.    the rod is 13.6ft, and light as a feather you can hold it all day long. 8) i have cast up to 6.oz no problem at all. 8) but think 5.oz is best suited to this rod. ;) bite detection is excellent picking up the smallest of bites at distance. 8) i Evan sure a bite from a 5cm whiting on it. 8) and pulled a duble header of dogs in with no problems at all. The HSM is a bit like the primo match. but a bit stiffer. 8) but not as stiff as the LT 14. it is what it says on the tin, a fishing rod and a dam good one at that. 8) i have no plans to get rid of it any time soon. 8) 10 out of 10. :D the only thing i don't like is the prize. expect to pay a bit more than the list prise, and add post and vat. other than that very happy. 8)

My advice to you would be to try a few rods before you buy one mate, otherwise it will start costing you buckets of cash, trust me i know and so does Ash, Sven, Wando, Tucker, the list just goes on and on and on and.......................................................................................... ;)
