Braid !

I've been feeder fishing with braid for quite a few years now and with quite a bit of success, mostly with bream and hybrids from the Bann.
The best braid I have used is the "new" 8lb fireline xds. And the worst is whiplash 6lb, it breaks like cotton.

I find Fireline to be a good line, it’s not perfect, the main reason I say this is that with increased line dimension it looses it’s flexibility even when compared to other braids of a similar dimension and it a bugger for shedding its outer coating all to easy even from virtually new. So I have got hold of a few spools of Spiderwire Stealth braid … made by the same people Berkeley, they reckon they have improved the problem of the shedding of its outer coating by individually coating each strand, this in turn has made the braid more supple for its given dimension when compared to FireLine!

If it’s true I don’t know yet, I bought a few 300 yard spools to try but as of yet haven’t got round to trying it out … all the above reasons has convinced me to try it out and the fact that I paid £4 for each 600 yard spool of Spiderwire braid convinced me to give it a go
