live sandeel is perfect from the boat ste 
to try and cast a live sand eel out into a surf will just kill it or even fall off in cast.( even though its only a short cast).no1 bait is fresh worm no2 fresh sand eel wrapped in small amount of elastic the other baits will catch but not as much hope this helps ya out m8
