I thought it to have a length of near invisible line next to the lure.

ffj my mistake i took it for granted that everyone uses 2ft mono when spining it does not matter what size line you use for spinning its the attractor that is the main thing the fish is chasing

my rig for spinning is 2ft mono with a 20lb swivel which this is tied to my braid at the rod end and at the lure end is a 20lb swivel quick locking clip so i can change lures very easy

Which do you use bren?

I've had some real carp ones which snap/rust/break after unlocking after several sessions and some are a real pain to clip onto chug bugs.

the ones i think is the best is the cabela's premium coast ball-bearing snap swivel but hard to find in this country i use to get my uncle to post them to me from Canada because he only ever fished with lures over there and when i went fishing with him some years ago now it was so easy for walleye/large mouth

the tackle in the USA is far superior than ours

use a double end mono loop if your to close to the O rings if you use them on the lure will show you how to make them

Anything but clear line will in clear water. I think this is why most people use a length of flurocarbon.

Anything but clear line will in clear water. I think this is why most people use a length of flurocarbon.

Florocarbon is clear

well i have just payed £9.50 for 300mts of 80 lbs braide e bay and still put 60 or 80 lbs leader on for casting and its pulls clear of most snagy places kelp comes up with rocks still attached

But to add to the weight of opinion...

Rough ground use 30lb straight through. It will drive you nuts retying shockleaders. I use red ice and wouldnt bother looking at anything else as its does the job admirably.

Definately dont use braid. it will cost you a fortune.

I use 50lb fireline crystal (white braid) on my fixed spool reel ( Surf Master 850) straight through and have never had a problem. It does pull out of snags very well but have now changed to multipliers now
