If anyone knows of any casting events coming up can you let me know.

Sven no offence taken fella I'm a long long way from perfect but am willing to take the time to learn ( if only for the safety of my fellow fishermen ) ;)

jeeez . ive never seen a rod react to take on that shape. is this due to how it was being cast or is it a fault in the rod . or are they that floppy :?:

Good to see a little reaction to a post, no offence taken from any comments but a few answers in my defence:

1) Pool ball weighed a fraction over 4 Oz so I was using 40 lb Drennan shock leader with "tournement leader" knot to connect to mainline.

2) There was only me and a mate on the whole place (although he was taking the photos whilst cowering behind a tree).

The only visitor we had was the p%!sed off grounds keeper of the cricket pitch we were casting onto. amazing the size of crater a cast pool ball can leave.....

The offer of the dvd from Sven, and the idea of videoing yourself go together Ian.Take up Svens offer, and use Spudguns idea, and as Kev said to someone the other week, put the brakes on full whilst trying to develope a rythm, and N.W.S.A.hold regular casting days at Cockerham if you begin to get keener.Good luck. ;)

No idea how a rod could bend like that mid cast. Have you got a vid?

The trees arnt distorted..... the one that looks distorted looks like that in all of the pictures .... Even the pictures where hes just holding the rod it looks like that.

No computor wizardary... noone would gain anything by photoshopping a casting pic anyway  Its just a sloppy rod ;)

I'd still be interested in seeing a video, it looks physically impossible to me for any rod to bend like that during a normal cast.
