When i use meat i start at 1inch cubes, stops the majority of eels

Couldnt use half a tin though, but on a barbel site theres claims a 18lber came on 2 hair-rigged 30mm halibut pellets wrapped in paste so bigger may be better

For the barbel i use 2 hair rigged 14mm halibut pellets soaked in halibut oil 8)With a bunch of maggots on the hook to help the barbel feel for the food

I have used worm in March for Chub and Barbel, worked really well, but not useable at the moment as you will catch a million eels.

I was gunna try and get hold of some lob worms the other day,as they`re supposed to work well when the river is in flood....what about other chub baits,like lamprey,kipper,prawns....anyone used the less traditional baits

As mr duffy said; big black slugs on a size 4 hook work wonders for chub, bread, meat, cheese and cheese paste all do well! Looking at all the above id suggest anything that can create a large scent trail will pull them in! So small lamprey sections should in theory work well beware of stray pike though

Im also considering getting a cheap fly rod to target chub and the odd brownie

Cos the chub seem to be at home in the surface layers

I dug about 1/2 a kilo of worm a fort-night ago on the motorway embankment... only a few lobs made a apperance though

So ive put loads of rotton stuff like leaves, rabbit carp and potatoe peelings and dug them into the ground... i make sure this gets water every other day! When the worms are in the area they will sense the extra minerals and hopefully stay there till i dig them up

Well thats the theory... ill let you know later on in the week

kev put a old piece of carpet at the bottom of the yard after a couple of weeks look under it worm city

always replace the carpet back (it will become your worm fridge for your next woosie maggot drowning trip

my old fella did this for years .

We don`t have yards in Sutton Manor,will the garden do
