Final standings Winter League 2024

Post by Dyl »

End of the winter league final standings.

Well after the last match all the scores were added to the final table along with all the different fish pools so after a lot of counting and adding and adding again then all the figures double checked the final results were in.
Sponsored pools.

Longest flounder sponsored by Jimmy Redfern was our only lady angler Tanya Denny with a 33cm flounder winning £10.

Longest fish kindly sponsored by Chris James went to Dale Edwards with a lovely cod of 73cm winning £20.

Longest plaice sponsored by myself went to Steve Duffy with a 32cm fish winning £10.
Most species caught overall inthe league sponsored by myself went to Dave Lunt with 6 species winning £10.

And total length of fish caught in the league again sponsored by Chris James went to Jordan Roberts with a total of 581cm.

So on to the main results.
1st went to Jordan Roberts with 53 points.

2nd went to Dave Roberts also with 53 points but just missing top spot with Jordan having 49 cm more on length.

3rd spot went to Daniel Davies who just missed out with 50 points.

4th Gary swift with 49 points

5th Robert Turner who also had 49 points but Gary having a longer overall length.

6th Mike Bishton with 47 points.

7th Dale Edwards 44 points.

8th Dave David Andrew Lunt with 35 points

9th John Waugh 32 points.

10th Dylan Kensall and Jeff White both with 28 points but Dylan taking it on total length.

The cod cup was one by Dale Edwards with his lovely 73 cm cod.

As well as the winners of the league and cod cup receiving the usual trophy they also had medals to keep along with 2nd and 3rd overall.

This year the winter league changed a bit with a few new formats used which everyone seems to have enjoyed again giving Everyone the chance of winning the matches on their last cast which happened a few times, along with all the different season and weekly pools everyone always had something to fish for in every match.
Thanks to everyone who helped out during the league checking scores for me and reading out results and advice on venues and decisions made. I hope you All enjoyed the matches as much as I have and it has been great to see how the attendance has gone up.
I might put it all together but without you guys it wouldn't happen even though they are matches they are more like a pleasure session with friends ,and it's been great to see how all the new members that have joined us have been made to feel so welcome. To me that is what makes this club different from some others we are all there to enjoy ourselves and have a laugh regardless of results so thanks to you all .
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the summer league which this year will be a series of 7 matches with your best 5 to count hopefully starting towards the end of April so see you all in about 9/10 weeks.
Keep your eye out for a new competition starting soon. The specimen trophy which will be run over a 12 month period this will be run by Dylan and Richie Fisher and will be open to everyone in the Facebook group.
Now I'm off to the pub

Cheers

Mark
