Round 7 report and results
Round 7 saw us at the stretch from Guinea gap up to seacombe vents there were already quite a few anglers already set up on the promenade waiting for the water to come in so once we had all booked on those who wanted to fish the top end of the prom made there way to a meeting point at that end and everyone else waited at the bottom of the hill then we all walked out together from each end.once everyone was set up in their chosen spots I went down the prom and split us into 2 zones there was 23 fishing so zone A was the first 11 anglers from Guinea gap and zone B was the remaining 12 upto the vent's.
Fishing was slow to start with the odd dab here and there which was the way things continued for some of us. Zone A seemed to be catching more fish mainly small dabs and the odd whiting as the day went on reports were coming in that a few people had 2 or 3 species which sounded promising with 45 minutes to go and a few people realized they hadn't brought their head torch but the lights came on the promenade and they all managed to see what they were doing so 5.30 came and All in was called so back to the carpark for results so while I worked everything out everyone had a hot drink which was welcome as even though the weather wasn't bad it was still a bit nippy especially towards the end.
1st on the day was in form Mike Bishton who had 4 species (5 fish) for125cm
2nd was David Andrew Lunt with 5 fish for 117cm.
3rd was Jordan Roberts with 4fish for 104cm
4th was Jon Walsh with 4fish for 101cm
5th Dave Roberts 98cm
6th Connor Whittingham 96cm
7th Richie Fisher 92cm
8th Gary Richardson 91cm
9th Jonny Kirkham 77cm
10th Jeff White 53cm
Zone A winner Dave Roberts
Zone B winner mark Davies
Biggest fish mike bishton with a 34cm whiting
Smallest fish Dave Lunt with a rockling of 13cm
Prize for biggest cod
As no cod caught it went to biggest dab which was Dave Lunt with a 28cm dab .
The golden peg was peg 7 which was me and I didn't even make the top 10 so it roll's over to the next match
Overall it was a good day with most people carding fish and with the league leaders at the halfway stage not carding much in the last 2 rounds has made it a bit closer at the top end of the table.
A little gap until our next match which is on Sunday the 9th February at vale park over low.
I will put a preview up the weekend before so hopefully see you all there
Cheers Mark
