Mag 3 penn reel

Post by Local/Brian »

Ok another thing I have had my use from and time to retire it ????

The reel is the Penn mag 3 [red one]
It's got issues as the ratchet dose not work due to poor build and cheap part's
The line has started getting trapped on the left hand side between spool and frame  I have striped it down and set it back up a few times still
happens  so not sure if spool has worn or the frame has twisted  the build quality is poor compared to other Penn reels .

So I think it's only use now would be a donor reel or spare parts ???
If anyone want's it - it's free .

Cheers Brian.

Very true Mr Steve . We never had any problems with the Sea Boy/Delmar/long beach or any of the Mitchel reels apart from bird's nesting them

Nice one Brian, I had the line trapping on the frame/spool on my Mag 2 Penn, it was a bloody pain.
Not sure I even still have the reel, to be honest......
