Re: Bait additives
A few years back I soaked my squid in Sensas Predator ( pike attractor ). I had good results with cod,on the Mersey.and rays off the boats, down the Menai.

Re: Bait additives
Stan I've not used additives or oils ? enough to say they work or don't work.
But I have for years changed the way I use my baits when targeting different fish / some baits work better when left out for a day or so like
Razor and gaper clam for bass and cod
Squid for Ray's
As for the black lug for quite some years now i have just been putting pumped blacks straight into a bucket of sea water and I am able to freeze them down with all the blood and guts still in side / hence when using they are just like fresh .
Cheers Brian.

Re: Bait additives
Don`t use anything myself, good quality bait should be enough to tempt the fish
winter fishing sucks
Re: Bait additives
Funnily enough when I had my bait selling business I was selling black lug to a company in Somerset, they asked to buy lug blood as they where developing a sea fishing additive. So I was sending them a couple of salmon size fish boxes with containers of blood in every month. This was about 30 years ago,I can’t remember the name of them.Long story short they went bump.
As far as additives In Spain I have used sardine oil mixed with crumb in a pva bag when fishing pop ups, that worked very well, then tried to improve it by soaking the cork ball pop ups in the oil, this increased the bites ,unfortunately the fish were taking chunks out of the pop ups.
