This years WSF Winter League will see a total of 12 matches fixed across a mixed format. 6 of the matches will be fished on the one flat & one round format with the other 6 matches fished on the straight total length format.
The Rules;
1. Only 1 rod to be used at any time. Spare can be set up with line threaded through the eyes but no end tackle can be attached
2. Minimum fish size limit of 20cm to apply to all matches
3. Maximum 2 hooks. Pennels count as 2 hooks. No trebles allowed
4. Spare traces can be set up and pre baited
5. Anglers must leave at least 8 meters between themselves and other anglers at high water matches
6. All fish to be witnessed/signed by another angler
7. Organisers decision is final
8. No walking off until 30 mins before start time
9. Any angler leaving litter will be disqualified
10. All dogfish will be awarded 40cm
11. All Rays will be measured across the wingspan
12. Pendulum casting is allowed on beaches at low water matches
13. Appropriate shock-leader must be used
14. Accompanied juniors are welcome but they must cast for themselves
15. In the event of a tie for overall league positions on points we will use the average finishing position of the anglers across all matches fished to establish the correct placings
16. The winner (angler with the longest total length) in each match will be awarded 10 points, with the second being awarded 9 points etc down to 1 point for 10th place.
17. All anglers will also receive 1 point for each match they fish.
18. Each anglers best 9 scores from the 12 matches fished will count with the worst 3 scores being dropped
19. The angler with the highest total of points after all 12 matches will be declared the WSF Winter League winner and will receive the trophy. There will also be a cash payout for overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the standings.
20. A further trophy will be awarded to the angler who catches the longest cod during the league.
21. Each match is an individual open in its own right
22. There will be a total entry fee of £8 per match which will include a payout for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each match as well as £1 for the longest fish pool and £1 going into the pot for the overall league pay out.
23. Dogfish do not count in the longest fish pool.
24. Weever Fish and Silver Eels do not count.
