Rock channel. 29/05/18.
The Hounds are about so i was out again for a second bash at the rock channel
a lovely sunny day out there today but with a very keen north easterly wind
made it not the best conditions for the hounds
but a fair few were making the crossing to have a go ether way
and casting into the wind was cutting casting distance a lot shorter than i wanted them to go.
The Dabs were there from the off and they were nicking my baits within minutes
then at long last a better knock on the rod tip and the first hound pup was out.
that was followed by the second starry pup of the day.
The dabs then came back with a vengeance over low water
and the east breeze was picking up also bowing the line and turning the sea rather choppy.
My second too last cast gave a much better result it was no biggie today at 5ld 10oz
but a better sized hound all the same so happy days and worth the effort.
As the tide was now flooding in quicky behind me
it was time to bail and get off the bank
and get off the spit and back across too safety before it floods shut for another day.

Good effort! Me and Tom were there monday, stood in the water for 10 mins beacuse it was that hot in the waders to cool off!
I had my first ever and only smoothie on my first cast, then lost something decent later on, then Tom threw a massive tantrum and cried in his first of two pups and the smallest ray ive ever seen! I think my iphone was bigger!
