3rd round of NWASAC Personal Members Championship 2107, Sun 14.5.17, Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool. (33 rods)

Otterspool Promenade was on challenging form on a bright and breezy day with an algal bloom in the water. Codling and whiting made up the majority of the catches with a few dogfish while eels and flounders, once the staple of this part of the Mersey estuary, proved elusive (as did all species on some pegs!). Crab was the essential bait.
Former Team Wales member, Wayne McGilloway made a perfect comeback after an absence of five years, taking the win from Zone B with a bag of nine fish for a length conversion score of 280 pts.

Eastham's Andy Hopkinson won Zone A with seven codling for 252 points for runner- up place.

Liverpools very own Ian Welsh, strong determination saw himtake 3rd place with 3 fish for 164 pts to beat Heathers 5 fish and winning there personal side bet.

Solid performances by the series leaders, Heather Lindfield and Emily Garrett, mean that they retain their positions but the championship scores are tightening.
The Lindfields are still leading the pairs championships dispite Bill Lindfield absence on Sunday.
