When using my homemade pulley Pennel rigs, everytime I retrieve it after a cast the leader tangles with the book length.

Is there anything I can do to a solid this?

How do they work exactly?

The bead replaces the main swivel on the rig.

What hook length material breaking strain is it your using?

20lb mono mate with 60lb for the rest

There's a video at the bottom of the link. It's not the best and digresses onto imps and shields etc but it's still better than I could explain.

Mono as in amnesia or mono as in main line mono? Main line mono just spins up.

How's your bait looking when it comes back in? If it's half hanging off it will act like a propellor in the tide flow and when your reeling in.

Your problem lies with either of the above in my opinion. I'm not sure the use of a pulley bead is going to stop or decrease the frequency of the tangles even though they do make for a better rig
