G/daughter on the canal.

Bludddddy 'ellll, no reports on here for a while eh? took my youngest g/daughter (4yrs) on her first fishing trip last week, just past the Saracens Head, I have an elasticated whip, not used in the bedroom yet which she took to straight away, the week before she watched me in the local park fishing, I missed a couple of bites which prompted her 4yr old mate to utter..."you're carp!".... good job she was with my g/daughter



she was into perch and roach pretty quick, she'd have given Wokkie a run for his money this was her first, a small perch you can just make out with a magnifying glass, yer can see the delight in her face.



She wanted to run to the small berthed boat 20 yards away, her float went under and I pulled in a chublet, the first I've ever seen in all the years of fishing the canal, what's that all about? won't be her last trip, lads.

Great way for her to start Danny.
There has been an influx of Gudgeon and Chublets in the canal as they pump water up from the Douglas all the time now since the canal was opened up down to Albert Dock.

Sound that, Ken, when I arrived at the car, I was telling another gent who was packing in about the chublet, don't think he believed me the look on his face.

I'll take her there again soon as its easy fishing for her.

I was fishing to the left of this pic where the trees are, I'd been doing well until the kids arrived so I shortened up to 12 inches to get them some roach near the top, the kids stood motionless in great expectations missed good bites which prompted her mate to utter those words, if she was 1yr old I'd have dragged her out of her pram.

btw, yesterday, a bloke was aerating the big lake and not with a straw, massive algae bloom on it....too much rubbish going in by the anglers or wha'?
