Match Report- Sun 11.9.11- 8th Round of Personal Members Championship 2011- Vale Park Bank, New Brighton (17 rods).


The match was fished in a gale but as this was offshore, it actually assisted casting from this low water sandbank in the Mersey estuary.
Rays were expected but in the event, dogfish showed although Bill LIndfield actually hooked and lost a thornback at the water’s edge on his first cast. On his second cast, he beached the heaviest flatfish of the match, a plaice of 38 cms.
Whiting, dabs, small codling, flounders, plaice and single Dover sole made up the catches with on-form local angler, John S. Williams landing 12 fish from Zone B- his win has moved him to 4th in the championship.
