Match Report: Final Round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Summer League, Sun 14.8.11, Bromborough, Mersey Estuary (40 rods).


With the league already won by Blackpool’s Ashley Sampson, the remaining placings and an invitation to fish the Top 30 Final early in 2012 were up for grabs.
Fewer eels showed than expected and baits were grabbed by hordes of undersized whiting with few of these making the 18cms size limit. The lack of eels showed in the modest measure and release totals.
Unusually, the match was won from one of the low numbered pegs with Tranmere’s Dave Evans landing the best flounder as part of his winning bag.

Of the three rays landed, John Baguley’s specimen of 81 cms was the longest, taking the roundfish pool.
