Suggestions requested for a suitable reel

Hi Guys,
My wife bought me a Penn 15' 9" Powerstix Pro beachcaster for xmas, I'm now looking for a suitable fixed spool reel to marry it up with. Experienced suggestions would be gratefully accepted .

shimano aerlex 7000 or 8000- nice light reel which holds good volume of line, only slight drawback is low gearing- fine for clean to mixed ground;- a heavier reel with a higher gear speed if you can locate one is the okuma EZ90 or EZ65 - in the £30 - £45 range- plenty of bearings - good volune of line and virtually bomb proof - will handle heavy ground in its stride

I have 3 shimano ultegras, and 1 shimano biomaster, can't fault them , great reels.

If buying a fixed spool i'd never bother with anything but shimano - I just know from first hand experience that they are solid as a rock and a joy to use.

The exage 10000 is excellent and about slap bang in the middle of the shimano's range coming in at less than the ultegra and the biomaster, not that they arnt damned good buys as well

Biomaster havnt had one long but the times i have used it it has been superb,very smooth on retrive and makes casting a dream..£120 and comes with 3 spools shimano and reels are like cider and duffy a perfect match..

Cider and cheap do not mix.Try Aspalls Cider from Suffolk.Quality stuff.

Thanks to all of you for your advice, it is gratefully received! I am now researching all the suggested reels and their prices. Look forward to meeting you all sometime when you can then give me some pointers on how to catch some of those little edible silvery things called 'FISH'! lol

If moneys no object check out the Fox Stratos 12000s, fully salt water proofed, super smooth, perfect line lay. I've got two and I love 'em to bits!
