I drove into the car park at Rawcliffe at what i thought was early, there were already plenty cars, with eager anglers. I had a quick natter with some of the regulars...

I paid my dues and drew my peg (22). I had brought some mussels to try today, along with corn, pellets and maggots.I would fish the short pole for bits, eight meters for the larger stuff and the feeder at the island. I decided to start on the short pole with maggot for the 'bits'. Feeding the 8 meter line...

This produced fish from the off. I stuck with this method for a couple of hours. Then moved to the 8 meter line but nothing was doin'...

Then the feeder was sent to the island, i gave this half-an-hour, nothing there either...

I moved back in for the bits as they seemed the only fish to oblige...

Changing from the inside to the longer pole made no difference. I stuck at this until near the end. The last half hour i dedicated to the feeder, though this seemed hopeless also...

I started to pack my pole away in the last 5 mins and turnd around to see my feeder rod shooting off to the side. At last 'fish on' and a decent carp at that, i got it in after the all out. Was i glad to see that fish...

Well done to Kammy winning the match, with 70lb+
