Hot and sunny, with temp in mid 20`s, crystal clear water, and large rafts of weed around, this was going to be a challenging session.
Along with this, the yachting boys were out and about, just to make things a bit more complicated,

Baits coming back untouched for first 90 mins, so shifted position to North end of bank, more or less casting into start of Rock Channel. Started taking dabs and weevers on scratching rod. Other rod had an up and over rig with 3/0 hook and crab bait. Just on low I managed my best cast of the day with the last of my bait. 10 mins later, I had a quivering bite, and a few taps on the rod tip. Small thornie I thought, give it a few minutes then have a look.
Then a decent pull down, strike …...good fish on, fantastic fight and after about 10 mins managed to beach a nice smoothie.

Would loved to of fished more of the flood, but no bait left now,
