Mainly a flounder mark, but you may also take plaice in spring/summer.In winter you will also take whiting and the odd codling. The fishing is virtually from your car,and there`s a small wall running the length of the mark which makes it safe for youngsters.Standard beach gear/rigs/baits will work, though you will have trouble holding bottom on the bigger tides,as the tide flows up/down a deep channel.Fishes poorly after spells of rain/snow,and will also suffer badly from weed in such conditions.
Getting there...follow the A548 for Flint, and as you go over the new suspension bridge take the first turn off signposted for Connahs Quay...follow the road, passing Deeside College, and just as you enter the town, you will see Dock Rd on your left...turn here and go under the bridge, following the narrow road through the small industrial estate. It will bring you out on the sea front.....you will now see the mark, with very close parking all along.
Be careful of the boats moored along the stretch....
Looking across the channel....
