Yakking about and a pike.

Postby Springbok » Sun May 08, 2011 10:45 am

Decided to have a go on the pike again from the yak today, but with my wife and daughter coming with it was more of a fool about in the water then fishing, I just managed a bit of trolling down the bank searching for a pike in the margins.

My two lures of choice. At one point my daughter got to close to my rod in the rod pod she got her hair all tangled up, I off course being a caring dad stood there taking pictures instead of helping her.

Trolling around, at one point I did drift over some pike swimming gracefully underneath me

After the quick fishing session it was time to play and experiment with the stability and capabilities of the yak.

Time for a break.

At the end of the day I ditched the yak and donned the waders and waded out to a secret hole, and as usual there is a pike or two waiting for me there.
This time it turns out to be a fish of 6lb 5oz

Next weekend Ill be playing in the salt if the weather stays good.
