Directions
Leave the M53 at Jcn 1 and follow signs for the "New Brighton", you will pass Max Spielman on your right, carry on folowing your nose and you will pass a golf course on your left, beware this area is targeted frequently with speed traps so stick to 30mph. you will approach a roundabout go straight over to the next, the sea wall will be in front of you, the area to the left and the right is Harrison Drive |
||
The fishing is anywere along this stretch, many anglers head for the "T" Groyne to the left as this is a favoured spot for the Bass, however the old Coast Gaurd Station to the right can be fished from the beach on the lower tides, the venue is slow in producing fish and many anglers only go here for the "convienence" of being able to park and fish, the Double Slip Way opposite the small model boating lake is another area that is favoured for Dabs and Plaice. |

| Aim to fish 3 hours before high tide it may be that the tide is still well out and the beach is still uncovered, however the tide soon floods this section and you want to be in the water as it hits the wall. The tide pull here can be strong and you will need a selection of leads, a moderate cast will put you in deep water but it is also worth just lobbing in 20 / 30 yds. This venie is poor during the winter months with many anglers heading for the nearby venue of Perch Rock fishing the venue over low water. |

Why dont you do a feature on your favorite venue, send it in and I will prepare it for the web. |
This venue can prove very popular during the summer and a late arrival will mean that you are unable to fish the "hotspots" , care should be taken when the wind is in your face as the sea will crash over the top of the wall, during such conditions anglers head off to the shelter of Vale Park and Town Hall Steps.
