Blankpool North Wall .....1st September

Postby Shacky » Sat Sep 01, 2007 6:24 pm

Us BLAS boys had a match today. Here's how it goes.................

Five of us showed today. Things are starting to improve
Me, Kammy, Baby Shrek, Millsy and our new boy, but, old friend Ashley (Ash).
I arrived to see Millsy walk right past my car without recognising me. So i text him to say no one was going and was sorry  . I won't tell you what he said to me, when i caught his attention
Anyway we all met up at the boat club. The sea was a bit rough and decided to fish the Cavendish rd area of the North Wall. This section has a nice sand bank and is noted for Bass.
We got to our chosen area and found a patch between the noddies
First chuck in, we were all hoping.....

From the start we were plagued with a lot of sea weed and strong tidal pull. Then Ash got the first bite of the day......In came this fella (37cm) :) .....

It was quickly measured, logged, photo, then into Millsy's fish bag  .....

Do you ever get that feeling, when looking up at your rod. Wish for a bite.....

Next cast, Ash was watching a bite "Flounder" he said.......Guess what he caught ?......

Same again. Measured (36cm) :( , photo and put back to fight another day.....

Eventually the weed started to decline, along with the tide and the fish :(
Full tide came and went. We hoped the ebb would be kinder and we would all catch........Not today.
With half an hour to go, Ash pulled in a pin Whiting.
We all re-baited for the last 15 mins and sent our baits seaward......Then Ash declaired a bite at the end. In came another Silver Bar
8) .....

This was also measured (37cm), photed :( and returned to its watery home.....

It was a good day out. Nice to see some fish at Blankpool and Ashley taught us all a lesson.......You need to cast to the Isle of Man
Seriously though. He did well today and christened his new rod.

Well Done :)

Many thanks to all who attended, the company was usual :D
