Where are some good marks on the Leven, Ive often driven past the upper part at Greenodd - is it any good for flounder ? Any easily accessible marks?

We regularly used to hold matches at Greenodd.

It used to be easily accessible from the cark park with the toilets just off the A590.

The channel came right next to this car park, there are picnic benches and toilets with hot water, you could fish from the back of your car.

The channel moves though, last time I looked it was not near the car park, but the tide floods in here and reaches the car park, you could try fishing onto the mud flats.

The Flounder at Greenodd, seem to be on the larger size ( although not usually great quantity like at Sandside or Arnside )

( Dave Kam cought a Salmon here once BTW )

There is also a Layby on the A590 just around the Greenodd turning, before the picnic/car park above ( if coming from Windermere side towards Barrow), this was roped off a couple of weeks ago for roadworks or summat. If you park here , you can climb over the fence and get down to a channel that runs near the road.

You do not get long fishing either mark, the tide comes in on a big wave ( not as big as a bore, but you can see the tide coming ).

Watch floating leaves, etc, while they are passing you left to right, the tide is not in and you will not catch flounder. When the floating stuff stops floating and then goes right to left, you got a chance. When you see the tide pass you , you are then in fishing time, you can fish for a couple of hours, until the floating debris starts going the other way, then the sea vanishes as fast as it came (if you fishing the Picnic site , you will tell when the tide is in, as you will not be able to see acres of mud !! ).

I have heard of another place further up from Ulverston, called Plumpton Hall, apparantly you get an hour or so either side of high extra fishing here ( not fished here though )

Also there is place called Flookburgh Hall that I have heard about on the other bank of the Leven, but have never fished here.

Canal Foot at Ulverston is also fished, but I have no idea about that either.

Hope this little bit helps.

Basically, I have no idea, but have fished Greenodd !!
