cod corner/wallesey dock

Postby joe roberts » Sun Jan 03, 2010 2:54 pm

Had to get out after all the festivities so decided to head for the mersey. After collecting bait on friday evening we set off with fresh lug. fresh crab (shore and hermit) and muscle.
First port of call was cod corner met uo with mal and kev who had arrived a bit earlier and as were setting up kev gets his first of the day.

shortly followed by smaller one's from me and degs.

then big sleet and rain clouds appear.

then the heaven's opened sleet and rain none stop for a few hour's but it didnt put the fish off only small and 2 at a time.

Image

after a good soaking and the current ebbing at an alarming rate we packed up and headed for wallasey docks for an hour to dry off and have a brew all we had here was one rockling to deg's.

Image

really strange fishing on a roundabout and big tug's passing within feet of you.

In all we never blanked again good fun and good company.

Aye cod corner can be fished at on lows, no matter what tide size (as far as having water there anyway!).

The ebb is wicked though, even on small tides, its a double pain as the ground gets rougher to the left, meaning you get stuck almost every chuck once holding bottom becomes a problem.
Make a difference - take home 1 piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing.

well done on the catch. Pics look great. Thinking of going there tomorrow or vale park. Are the tides too big for tomorrow day time? I'm having dreams of cod big time.. the other day my wife said i was even hallucinations in my sleep
