Derby Pool - My First Ray

Postby Aid » Sun Jun 28, 2009 7:49 pm

Having seen Mossy's post in the week thought it was high time I got myself a Ray and so after getting some sound advice from Spudgun set off to Derby Pool to fish the low this morning.
Arrived about 8.30 and set off on the walk to the water :(
It was however worth the walk with this little one to start about an hour before low:

and the this one at 2lb10oz ten minutes later:

Finally another new species a small but perfectly formed Gurnard:

All in all a great days fishing.

Well in matey, cracking couple of fish !
It has always been my private conviction that any man who pits his intelligence against a fish and loses has it coming.

Nice one :) :) looks like Derby is going to take a bit of a battering :) :)
Sea fishermen are born honest. But they soon get over it.

Someone suggested fishing the gulley at the end of the car park for bass over high.
