Caldy, last Mon, 8th june

Postby tonylfc » Fri Jun 12, 2009 5:11 pm

Had bait left over from the River Alt the previous day so decided to go and catch tea.

Had peeler, suey and fresh blow. Arrived 3 hrs before high and walked out to meet water and fish the flood.

Took until i was nearly right back in and spool almost empty

and MAGIC :D

a 1-4-0 Plaice, and had an eel on bottom hook ( not photo'd )

next cast, a smaller one 13oz

As I've said before (and been ripped for!!!), the best fish at Caldy always come from casting out and then following the tide back.
Nice one on the plaice, beautiful (and tasy) fish!
...And my Maudlin shall sing you one of her best ballads; for she and I both love all anglers, they be such honest, civil, quiet men.

Caldy looks like the plaice to be.

Has anyone used that pun before?
Make a difference - take home 1 piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing.
