Rossall Hospital.....25.11.07

Postby Shacky » Mon Nov 26, 2007 8:55 pm

The weather today was windy with a bit of rain. When we arrived at the Hospital, the rain had stopped and the wind was receding :) . As i got to the car park, Bren was ready and waiting  Kammy would be late :?
There was just the three of us tonight, would the fish be there :?:
The match was the JL Rogers, or was it the BLAS committee, or could it even be the Tackle Tarts..............I'll let you decide.....

Heading down the beach we noticed some what we thought were rock formations, "strange". They actually turned out to be hard sand, which had uncovered because the beach is low.
Our spots were chosen and prepared to do battle. By now the wind had tailed off to nothing. Being the optimist i am  i got ready for a long match. Worm on the ready, i cast in. Waited 5 mins, then a bite. We thought it was a whiting bite, in came a.....

As i was unhooking my doggie, Bren walked up with two to measure.....

Kammy was not latching into the fish :( I knew he would have something up his sleeve. My rod was off again. This fella was insize.....

We all had a few Whiting but none insize. Then the tide started turn and flood with a vengance. Kammy shouts over "i've got a Codling, a Dab came in with it also.....

We were now running backwards up the beach, catching small Dabs and Whiting. We were glad it was not rough. There was a gulley behind us that was filling like the Titanic. So a mad dash was made to get through. We only just got across in the nick of time  The water pressure was tremendous. After a quick re-group our baits were sent seaward again.
Kammy brings in another Codling 8) . me and Bren are getting trashed by the Cod Meister :( .....

More small fish, Through another gulley and Kammys at it again  .....

Then time ran out on us. This was a good nights fishing, the result sizes don't do us justice, as most of the fish we caught were undersized. It was a great species hunt, which included.....Codling, Whiting, Dogfish, Dab, Flounder and Rockling. Will we do it again :?: "YES" Next week on the North Wall 8) ...Watch This Space :D
2017 Species Hunt....Dab, Whiting, Rockling, Plaice, Flounder, Dogfish, Bass, Tope, Sole, Tub Gurnard, Turbot.

Nice one guys. Reading some local reports and local chat and things weren't looking too good for "Blankpool". Good to know things are still OK.

PS, where and when for the "North Wall", hope it is a Sunday and I'll try to get there as well.

See if this 'old guy' can give your 'old guy' a run for his money
