Town Hall Steps WSF/BLAS Winter League

Postby Shacky » Sun Nov 11, 2007 4:33 pm

Up at 5.30 this morning, for the drive to the Wirral. I was at Kammys by 6.20. We arrived with plenty of time to spare. So we popped out for a chat with the lads and the Ronalds  . The White Van was waiting for the signing in. Bren was fishin', but Kev is loosing his Mojo again :( . Macman was having a go today. Bluecat had appeared for a third time :o
Our plan of attack for the day was to drive to the Town Hall. Park up and leg it down the prom. NO CHANCE......I looked over the wall to see 30 anglers, racing down the prom. We decided to fish at the bottom of the steps. Where no one wanted to fish, cos' there was a wheelie bin and shopping trolley out there.
We set up and waited for the off. First chuck the bites came straight away, but could not connect. This carried on for a while, eventualy Dave caught a small codling followed by a whiting. I had the same, then managed an insize dab. High water came and so did the Whiting.....in force. All the little blighters were 27cm :x ....................

Our bait was declining quickly. Kammy had a worm 'n' crab count......

Image

We had quite a show today, being Rememberance Sunday....The Sea Cadets came marching by. A guy from the Town Hall let go with some Huge Rockets and a Dekota gave us a couple of visits. We even had the two min's silence.......Respect 8)
Back to the fishing. Kammy had managed a couple of insize whiting. I also caught a whiting, so i finished up with this pair for the weigh in.....

Image

Back at Tobin Rd, there was a queue for the weigh in. At last :) a match with a good return for the amount of anglers.....

Image

Paul caught this fine 3LB+ Codling right on the death 8) .......

Image

We had to rush off early as Kammy had a party to go to
Anybody recognise this snout :?: .....

Image

Yep he had been sniffing the blackworm a bit too close

I was also given this weigh sheet......

Image

Think someone is taking the Pish  Nice try anyway Macman :)

Another Great Day out. Thanks again Fella's for your company 8) :)
