Starry Talacre.

.

A trip back to Talacre in north wales with the aim of landing a few hounds
beautiful day to be out on the beach the tide and the conditions looked very good for the day ahead
the beach was very busy with over 20 anglers making the long walk out.

The first few casts were looking very good with dave taking the first smoothy pup
and a thornback ray in just a few casts.

Shortly after them i landed my first hound of the day for 4lb 15oz.

We thought we were all in for a good day but the fishing then dyed off
and as we looked around no one was caching anything at all
and just when all hope looked lost
i took the best hound of the day for 6lb 15oz. :D

Two lads further up from us were doing well taking two over 10lb and several others also
but everywhere eles was looking very quite with a couple of dabs here and there
and quite a few anglers just scratching there heads as to were the fish were
i would say out of 20 odd only 6 had hounds and only 3 had over 2
there was a lot of scum on the water today also baits were getting striped
and the weed was also cursing a few problems for most on the beach
so the day became challenging but thats fishing for you.

The ebb came and went and the flood started
and then dale had a good hound for 5lb.

I must have had a lucky pocket of fish in front of me today
as i managed another two hounds just under 5lb and 3lb
to finish the day. :D
