Fort perch rock 01/05/18

I gave the perch a try out on tuesday too see what was lurking about down there
it was overcast and raining on and off with a good wind on my back
but despite the conditions the fishing was still exelent. :D

it was dabs and whiting from the off with a double header every cast
and with two rods out this was a very busy session indeed

the fish were in good numbers but the condition was shocking today
i had at lest 10 dabs with boils all over them and a fair few that were very off color
and the majority of the whiting were long but very thin and in near starving condition
as they have been out the river for a while it looks like they have not fared to well out at sea.

but despite that i had a good pull down on the rod and another nice condition thornback ray
was landed for 5lb 10oz :D

after that it was back to the dabs and whiting until low water
then the rain got the better of me and i headed home.

I've told all the fish involved to get away for the weekend and have a Spa session.
