Had all your names in my little black book anyway, but thanks for confirming. ;) and spread the word.
Have 59 booked on and it has not been advertised in Sea Angler yet. 8)
Sent in Land usage form to council, but since getting back from Croatia I am hearing rumours about work being started at the Garden festival site, and that parts of the prom will be fenced off.
Spent hours on phone and internet without any joy, no one is aware of any closures, but I am awaiting a return call from Langtree who are carrying out the work.
With pegging for the 2 day stretching from Brittania Pub, to in front of the car park to accommodate 100 + anglers it would be disastrous to find the prom closed.
I have 20 anglers coming from IOM & Ireland with ferries booked so if any one has any information on any closures would they please let me know.

Jan is a commercial property manager for Langtree and has just phoned the man in the know....he says there`s all sorts of rumours flying round from the council/riverside residents association/tom dick n harry.... there is gunna be work starting to renovate the old garden festival site but no building work has been given the green light...he does expect works to have started before the 2 day festival, but sees no reason why any of the prom should be affected....even when/if building starts he sees no reason to block any of the prom as the site is well away from the prom and all building/works access will be from Riverside Drive.....things can always change but as of 10 mins ago, that`s where we stand ;)

Thanks for replying Kev. I have spoke to many people at the council but no one has a definate answer so I appreciate your post, it sounds a bit more positive. :) :)

It's such a headache running matches as you well know, you having been there , worn the TShirt etc.
This is a popular event on the national calender and I really need the prom from the Brittania to the Otterspool so any closures would be disastrous.
Keep me posted if you do hear any more.
