Match report: 9th round of NWASAC Personal Members Championship 2013, Sun 15.9.13, Maddock Bank, Wallasey (18 rods).

The penultimate round of the championship proved a scratchy affair in squally weather but there was some relief when dabs showed on a few pegs: this species seems to have been absent from the Mersey in recent weeks.
Title rivals Bill Lindfield and John Baguley both drew end pegs with Bill’s upriver draw proving more fruitful; eight fish from extreme range gave him the win and extended his championship lead as the final match looms.

Results (scored in continental style from 2 zones):
Bill Lindfield (Greasby), 2080 gms, 5 flounders, 3 dabs (Zone B).
Carl Edwards (Bootle), 1210 gms, 4 dabs, 2 whiting, 1 gurnard (Zone A).
Michael Brookes (Birkenhead), 1130, 1 flounder, 1 dab.
Mike Emery (Onchan), 1060, 3 flounders.
James Kelly (Thingwall), 700, 1 plaice, 1 flounder.
Derek Bibby (Crosby), 770, 1 plaice, 1 dab.
Roundfish Pool: C. Edwards, gurnard, 160 gm.
Flatfish Pool: M. Brookes, flounder, 800 gms.

Series after 9 matches (top 10):

Joe Perry (Litherland), 146.
John Waugh (Wallasey), 143.

Richard Burrow (Felixstowe), 116
John S. Williams (Prenton), 107.
equal, Les Trish (Crosby) & Mike Roberts (Sale), both 103.
