Match Report: N.W.A.S.A.C. Top 30 FinalMatch Report: N.W.A.S.A.C. Top 30 Final, Sun 15th January 2012, Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool (27 rods).

A cold but sunny day saw 27 of the top 30 anglers from the 2011 Summer League assemble to fish for the Frank McClean Trophy in this annual event.
As the tide turned and the incoming salt water crept over the mussel beds, a steady flow of small codling came to the measure. As the depth increased a few better fish were landed to be augmented by a run of whiting towards high water.
Experienced Wallasey ace, John Waugh had drawn the end peg in downriver Zone B and took full advantage of this prime position to record a winning total of 470 cms of codling and whiting to yellowtail lug to take the trophy and cash prize of £160. England Youth International Michael Brookes was runner-up from Zone A.
As usual, Otterspool was peggy with some anglers struggling to find any sizeable fish, however, Association member Mike Roberts who was not a qualifier for the final, landed a fine cod of 8-3-0 just upriver from the match length
