Match Report: Round 3 of N.W.A.S.A.C. Summer League, Sun 12.6.11, Rock Channel, New Brighton (38 rods).
To add to driving rain and wind throughout the match, the sea was filled with jellyfish whose slime and sting cells caught on lines on the retrieve with obvious consequences. Nonetheless, the low water channel produce fair numbers of flatfish, flounders, plaice and some big dabs to crab baits with a sprinkling of school bass along the beach.Zone A, the shallowest and most seaward end proved most productive and there was a narrow win for Mersey legend, John Waugh over Paul Simpkins, a former local match ace in his comeback year.John also caught the longest roundfish, a small bass of 34 cms
