Good luck parking, there's a football tourny and funfair in the dip opposite where you walk out from. It was busy from 9.30 this morning so by the time you're all meeting you will be lucky to get a parking space within half a mile on a Sunday if the weather is fine. Be weary of the traffic wardens if you park on the pavement or central reservations. Good Luck.

Macman did indeed turn up,along with 20 others who made the long walk/wade out to the far bank in search of glory :D
5 mins after chucking a couple of big crab baits out,and my rod was dragged round by a P.B starry of 9-7-8
Image
That was the start we were hoping for,and all eyes were awaiting some action on their rods...ooh err missus  Sure enough,Dave Bown was next in ,some 15 mins later, with the biggest starry of the day, going 9-11-8
Image
The expected "mexican wave" of rods lifting in to hounds, did`nt happen,as only pin whiting n dabs were coming out.....the rain carried on falling which did`nt help matters, but after a while Graham got his first starry, albeit a small one ( no pic sorry,as he was a touch too far down the beach).....further to the right of us was a couple of lads who`d seen the meet info and came along...Sam took 2 hounds around the 6lb mark, while his mate (sorry i did`nt get his name) had dabs, flounder, plaice and whiting.....one of the Pirates also had a hound @6lb at the end of the "match length" so to speak.
We hoped the rays would put in an appearance towards low water, but they decided otherwise :? i did manage another hound of 9-3-8 some 30 mins before low 8)
Image
And made a special effort just for Shaun with this dab of 0-7-8
Image
7 hounds for 20 rods is`nt too bad, considering the poxy weather and wrong wind direction.....hopefully things will get much better over the next few weeks 8) Still good to be out with the lads and meet a few new faces ;)

The peelers are around throughout summer, but not in the great numbers that you`ll find early on....at the moment there`s loads of females to be had,but in a week or two it`ll calm down....still easy enough to get 30/40 for a couple of hound hunts :D
