Zziplex 1005

I know its something of a dinosuar being 30+ yrs old but what a sweet rod!The action is so smooth and forgiving yet recovers like some kind of miracle from full compression on a pendulum swing. The power is so easy to hold on to, makes the use of higher spooled multipliers such as the speedmaster a doddle for high reel casting. The tip is a bit of a handful to transport at 8ft 6ins but worth it!!

Had one of these when I was about 12/13 back in the early eighties, great rods ideal to learn pendulum with , they were 11 foot 10 inches long rated 4-6 oz, mine had an aluminium butt and I had it built with daiwa dynaflo rings with red whipping tipped with yellow. Blank was semi carbon with a definite stiffness to the lower half of the tip section. It was soon superceeded by the legendary 2500.
