Anglesey

Postby tony1 » Thu Aug 25, 2016 5:08 pm

off to the island on sat for a weeks hols with the missus and kids. The eldest is 7 and I wanted to take her fishing whilst there. Any recommendations for safe easy access marks whether for minis or a few mackerel not bothered. Only lookin to grab the odd hour or so as the missus with babies would be in tow.

thanks

Amlwch is a good easy option. If you need rag call tel boys tackle to order some from him. It is a trek from Malltraeth but it is easy comfy fishing where catching is pretty much guaranteed.
The small tidal river running through malltraeth holds mullet so that is an option. Also near the river is a pool where the horses feed has mullet but you may get kicked off. The usual eels and flatties in the river/bay. If you follow the river upstream to the road bridge you often see mullet there and have a go stalking them.

A cage feeder with mashed bread and mashed tinned fish with rag used to work as did floating crust. If you have a go it is worth taking a landing net.

It can be a trek but Newborough and llandwyn island can give up some good fish. Depends what you are after.
If you blank take them to the sea zoo down the road.

But as one of the lads said the other day everyone's favourite Holyhead Breakwater is now open to cars again so will probably have a bash there. Report to follow :p
