Vale Park - Fish n Meet

Postby chriswsf » Mon Feb 08, 2010 10:55 am

A cold and overcast morning met the 20 anglers who turned up for the First Fish and Meet of 2010. As this was the re arranged date from January it was more a case of getting them going than actually catching fish as we knew the river was fishing pretty bad.

Milly was trying to make new friends and to be honest they put up with him very well......

Bobfish even got the Milly treatment

Myself and Tony watched as milly wandered the beach
Image
Aid was assiting ??? giving advice on Shock Leaders.
Image
Is that a bite ?? - the trip from leafy Congelton could have been worth it
Image
John Sherlock was showing us all how to look good in waders
Image
His dad was targeting anything
Image
Mick Mac, Aid & Tony (who had set a target of getting in all the photo's) looked on as Milly continued to wander the beach
Image
A FISH !!!!! - this just proves Milly can catch, not long after he had another as well !
Image
Jon (Spudgun) turned up looking for mates to fish the rocks
Image
Mark made a fantastic effort to get to the Fish and Meet and looked really well after the recent hospital operations etc
Image
The Cat and Prawn arrived - just to look cold

I got a massive bite, the rod was nodding and was almost off the rest !, I had a 3/0 pennel out loaded with Lug and Squid, i mananged to get to my rod just before it was taken into the deep by the monster on the end of the line, As i was getting dragged down the beach, Tony, Mick, Aid and Milly came running over to support me, my arms had started to hurt and my back was giving way as i reeled in the monster from the deep !!! - evantually after what seemed like hours it i had got to the shock leader knot, so i knew i almost there - at last it gave up the fight and i was able to land the prize speciman - BUT WHAT WAS IT ......

Nice report Chris.

I think we should just meet in the pub and leave out this fishing malarkey.

You can just show everyone how to make £10 T-shirts. ;)
