pensarn. 5/9/19

Postby golfer » Thu Sep 05, 2019 7:05 pm

not a lot of work on today so figured with it being a little breezy I would have a crack at the bass at Pensarn.

fished 4 hours up to high using a simple 1 up 1 down rig with 2/0 hooks loaded with frozen lug.

nothing happened for the first 40 mins or so, then had a run of 4 schoolies on consecutive casts, biggest one was 36 cms.

went quiet then for an hour before another 5 schoolies obliged, biggest of the day was 41cms.

just before hw had the last fish of the day a 29cm codling.

really enjoyable day, shame no big ones showed up, maby next time.

That's a cracking session mate , and a bonus codlet to boot. I like pensarn as it's not a big beach so not too much hiking with ya gear but was put off last time I was there a couple of years ago as the netters had been using it , there must have been at least 20 dead smoothound on the high water line discarded. Thanks for your report as havnt heard how North Wales bass marks are doing
Getting out fishing is good for the soul, catching is a bonus
