Starr Gate 02 Sept

Postby Willpower » Mon Sep 02, 2019 2:24 pm

Nice blow the last few days and a 0.2mtr l/w at 08.30ish plus wind for today, so Rowley & myself went to our 1st choice summer mark and we were in the water 1hr before l/w.
30 minutes before l/w I beached a nice 3lb 2oz (48cm) bass. I followed up with another 4 Bass, then a nice bonus double shot of a Bass and a Codling at 34cm (1st Codling for me at this mark).
Meanwhile Rowley was busy reeling in weed, however, he was off the mark with a Dab, followed by a nice Bass and he finished off with a small Plaice.
Pumped more than enough worm for the session and brought some home for the freezer.

Nice.

I’ve been hearing reports of big bass all along the Fylde Coast this week.

Fantastic session mate, I love catching silvers there allways in pristine condition as well as nice eating. Its not often you see a codling and a bass in the same pic even more so on the same rig :D  :p

nice one good session that / they do love them rough conditions that a lot of anglers won't fish
its good to see Liverpool bay is back to turning out some good fish ?
on the Wirral we are sill just getting the smaller ones but hopefully like last year sep and oct will bring some better size fish in?
I fish for the enjoyment I get out of it and the sport the fish provide ?
