Talacre 31/08/19

Postby Dyl » Sun Sep 01, 2019 8:02 am

After me being away on holiday for 2 weeks and missing the Talacre match I was desperate for me fishing fix.
It was a last minute decision and fancied Talacre as I haven’t seen any reports of other venues producing much of anything

Low was at 7pm 0.89M and the wind forecast was about 17mph westerly but actually dropped down to 13mph

Made the long walk to my chosen location and had the entire bank to myself.
I didn’t use any crab as I wanted to see there where any Hounds still knocking about that I could tempt with Squid on one rod and squid and Bluey
Baits wr in the water for about 5:30pm and holding bottom was a bit of a problem to start with and there was a bit of weed knocking about that didn’t help

I decided to have a pump for some worms with some good worms coming out Bass

An hour in and all was quiet and time to recycle the baits. Both rigs were up and over rigs one with a large Squid and Bluey at distance the other had the freshly pumped lug gently lobbed out

Pulled in the Squid and Bluey and it had a dead weight on it weed????

Weighing in at 4lbs 6oz and my bet Ray this year

Immediately followed on the other rod with

Weighing in at 2lbs 3oz and 43cm

Happy days
Followed that with my first beach caught Husslet

perfection in miniature

Then another Bass at low water exactly the same weight

That was it for the session no more action, 8:30pm and the tide had turned and was pulling like a train so it was time to pack up to do the long walk back.

It’s a long walk back but never as bad on the way out

Great report and pics dyl , 3 species in a session and maybe a silver for the plate, loving the rainbow shot :D, like Brian says and Paul tucker mentioned the Liverpool/wirral marks have been a tad slow at the moment but am sure I'll have a decent silver before they too move off.
