Perch rock 19th Aug

Postby Seasicksteve » Mon Aug 19, 2019 8:35 pm

Got to the Fort at 4.30pm in the hope of getting on the mark for 4.45(low was 8.50pm) . last Tuesday I lost a decent hound early on so was keen to get a bait asap. I had fresh and frozen peeler. Whilst making a brew my rod indicated a decent bite so had to scuppa my brew without the lid on in my box :). Before I knew it my tripod was keeling over, picked it back up and struck into something half decent ;). My first and only smoothound of the season was beached, boy those fish fight hard. With the adrelain still pumping weighed it using my coat as a sling it was bang on 8lb, absolutely buzzing 8lb smoothound perch rock https://imgur.com/gallery/tPorDOI

The wind picked up from behind me but persevered with crab baits but to no avail, 2 lads to the right of me hada couple of rays each, writing this still here so giving it til 9.50 then gonna sack it, might try again tomorrow evening or might fish Crosby for a silver

Thanks Seasicksteve :0:
