Early session at Perch Rock.

Postby Steve Duffy » Fri Aug 02, 2019 9:35 am

Gosh I discovered today that there are 2 four o clocks in a day.My good mate Roy had a bucket full of peeler and invited me to an early morning session at Perch Rock.I arrived just as Roy made his first cast.I got tackled up and got my bait in the water.Roy was into a ray first cast and I quickly followed him.We had a mad hour with ray after ray being caught.Roys best weighed just over 10lb and my best went 6lbs. A great session and well worth getting up for.

Great report and pics guys

Good to see so many rays in the river. No crab at the mo, but i have plenty of squid/sandeel, so might get a look down and give it a go
Only here for the cod!

Fresh peeler tipped with a bit of squid is the bait of choice.

I had no crabs but tbh, almost every smoothie I've seen coming out this year have been on squid or squid/lug wrap.
I'm gonna have to invest in some peelers soon.
