Kayak sesh new brighton 2

Postby neil.price37 » Sun May 26, 2019 5:39 pm

Fished the rock channel far bank area looking for hounds, found an area near some small boats/charters around 12ft deep at low water.
Trolled a lure on the way out but nothing interested :(.
So I baited bait rod up and cast up tide, 5 mins and the lead had tripped and signalled a fish was on :D
What a fight! Got a real lesson in how strong these fish are from the yak as they have the depth to rip line from the drag for fun :o. The best thing it was only 5lbish  thought it was a beast till it surfaced
Baited back up with a squid /crab cocktail and an instant after it landed it tripped again, I thought it was the lead hadn't gripped but on retrieving found a thorny attached
Then another.
Back into hounds next
Had lrf rod baited with sandeel / mackerel as well and had a few dabs.
And then one of my fav fish a little tub gurnard on a 1/2 sandeel.
After that it was as if everything had moved off and I had a no bites in 45 mins and all the small boats had gone so followed suit and upped anchor and drifted back inshore to try for
And one even smaller one to a sg eel before I left.
