Talacre 3rd Jan

Postby Patriot » Thu Jan 03, 2019 9:04 pm

So having decided to fish Talacre and then further encouraged by Steve Trishs' report....

Thought i would make a day of it and head to Pensarn for high water

Very quiet, but got there early to avoid stupiud M6/M56 traffic. Just one rattle which I missed but nice to have a chat with dog walkers etc

So headed to Talacre, stopping and several tackle shops on the way. No worm, no worm and....no worm

We'll do well to get fresh for Sunday ;) ;)

Just as well i took along 3 packs of frozen then!

Setup at Taclacre - it was dabs i was really after. They've been very few and far between for me this season - in fact only one in size

Blimey thats a hard walk in that soft sand. About 100yds right of the green buoy

From the off....whiting. First fish was 32cm and was the biggest of the day. Not great, but returned alive, as most were

2 hooks, 2 whiting. Cast after cast - i stopped counting at 30. As soon as the bait was in the water they at it. Still no dabs...until the last cast....

Just in size

Packed up at 4pm, just as starting to lose the light. Back at the car and home

Now if i can just have that 32cm whiting and that dab again on Sunday.....

Good session . I always walk straight down to the waters edge then along , found it a bit easier that way. Unfortunately my Humpalumpa trolley has finally fell apart. I will have to reinvest to save my legs and back!
