Otterspool 29th DEc

Postby Patriot » Sat Dec 29, 2018 8:44 pm

Have'nt managed to get out for a while, so thought i would have a crack at Otterspool today

Fresh black, Crab and Squid

Fairly blustery on the river with the wind coming off the sea

Did the long walk to the deep water mark and as last time i was here, very quiet. Not even a crab
After 2 and a half hours, i moved back along towards Jericho and fished a shallower mark which produced last time i was here

Bites on every cast although i suspect there was a fair amount of crab activity

First fish was a 32cm Codlet. Somehow i managed to video it instead of photo, so no image

Got the next one though, a nice fat codling just short of 42cm

I then missed another two decent bites. No end tackle lost at that mark, so will head back there next time

A few others down today towards the deeper water, but no fish that i am aware of

Anglers also further up toward Jericho Lane there and there appeared to be a few whiting, mostly small

Just great to be out with the rod again. Did'nt exactly fish as i hoped, but most enjoyable all the same
Only here for the cod!
