Otterspool 9 Dec

Postby Patriot » Sun Dec 09, 2018 5:38 pm

Met Steve Duffy at the car park. I was going a bit further down the prom so he set off after me

Lovely morning and headed down to the deep water mark. Steve stayed a bit further up the prom

Fresh lug, squid and crab

On the other side of the jetty was Maerig, so he joined me.

Loads of craap on the lines and very snaggy today. Maybe down to the amount of weed on the hook snood, keeping the hook firmly on the bottom

After 2 hours, a solitary 27cm codlet. Very poor

Maerig moved to see if he could find fish back towards the car park then i joined him fishing on the anchor

Steve Atkinson already up there, along with Tony and a few of the other guys

First cast at the anchor produced a codling, just short of 40cm, and it was non-stop for an hour or so

Steve came down with a stonker of a whhiting, just as i landed a slightly smaller codling

Nicely reported Jeff and thanks for the dinner, Its all ready for grilling tomorrow night. :D
Yes it was a glorious day soon after the sun came up in spite of the poor fishing (for some of us).

Was a good day to test out new and donated SH trolleys as we were doing the walk from the car park along the seafront, Steve Duffy with his and me with his old one, and a good session of chinwagging went on too. :D
So all in all a very pleasurable day of fresh air and excercise.
Looking forward to next week with hopefully a full quorum.
2018 species: At last  Whiting, Doggy, dab, codliet, flounder, French bass and thornie
