Hall Road

Postby paramedic » Sat Nov 24, 2018 2:39 pm

Quick one...fished F... Hall Rd , last nights high, weather was kind, bites from the off, a dozen decent whiting giving a good account of themselves on the light gear, all falling to frozen black, couple of dogs on the whole squid, I know its a marmite venue but better than sitting in the house, easy fishing, ideal for newbees, and those coddos do turn up now and again so always in with a shout, im still convinced a big lunker loner Bass is always on the cards...well, that's what I keep telling myself
tight lines all, mike

I`ve had some good sessions there for codling, especially the last hour on the beach before getting pushed on the prom...fishing low at Seaforth, chippy tea then the flood at Hall rd gives you a good session.....good session Mike laaaaaaaaa, any doggers about :?:

haha...now you mention it, there was a bit of suspicious activity going on, headlight flashing , I think I may have threw a spanner in the works when my headtorch slips into flash mode
but you're spot on in relation to the flood, all the action was before high, thinking 2 hrs before is a bit late
i 'll don the rubber next trip and get on the beach, really mix it up with the doggers..
it did pick up on the ebb, have you ever fished it down to low Kev? ive only ever pumped at low and know the ground gets a bit sloppy

Wokky used to live down there and said it often fished well from an hour in to the ebb....probably worth giving it a couple of hours in to the ebb,but with the main beach being so flat it will empty out fairly quickly after that....you don`t know til you try though
If you`re talking about going out to fish from a couple of hours before low, then no i have`nt...been out to the low water line when pumping and the ground seemed ok....not sure what depth is out there

Are you guys talking about up near the golf course end? Or further down stream along the Prom?

Looking for an "easy" spot to try fishing the Mersey one evening after work..Nothing definite yet, just an idea for sometime over the winter...

I work not too far from Mariner's but looking for somewhere a bit quieter as will probably be fishing on my own...

Hi Pete, Hall road is the Coastguard Station at Crosby, North of the docks, between seaforth and the river Alt, great description and directions in the venues section...
